The main motif of the Chateau Freistadt trademark is three roses, which are synonymous with the name of the city, because Hlohovec is a city of roses, which dominate the gardens, streets and parks throughout the summer in this city. They symbolize the tradition, the present but also the future, which is here with us as a quality archival wine with its history.
At the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, vineyards with noble varieties began to be established on the territory of the town, but in recent years they have also been expanded to include newly cultivated vine varieties. The area is included in the Malokarpatska vineyard area, but the vineyards extend east of the Váh River below the southern slopes of Považský Inovec. The sun and the unique soil with a higher calcium content are typical of this district. The Váh River is a major donor of energy that protects part of the vineyards on its banks from spring and winter frosts.
Chateau Freistadt brings wines of the premium line from Hlohovec vineyards, which are from two consecutive years of 2011/2012. Ivan Kováč, who is the owner of the Chateau Freistadt Winery trademark in cooperation with Tomáš Krist of Milotice, as one of the best Moravian winemakers, has signed these wines with his feeling and skill. They took 11 of the highest quality varieties of white grapes and 7 varieties of blue grapes, from which they prepared amazing white, red and one pink wine.
