The Way of St. James is one of the oldest and most visited pilgrimage routes in Europe. Pilgrims from all over the world have been traveling with it for more than a thousand years. All these roads go to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, where in the local cathedral are, according to tradition, the remains of St. James, the apostle of Jesus Christ. Some parts of the roads are also on the UNESCO World Heritage List. The Slovak pilgrimage route is also recognized in the network of European roads. The main route through Slovakia leads from Košice to Bratislava and to the border with Austria, where in the nearby town of Wolfsthal it connects to the Austrian branch and then on to Santiago de Compostela. The Slovak route comes to the Church of St. Jakub in Trnava and from there leads the section Trnava - Bratislava, which also leads through Cífer. For the purposes of this publication, in our region we will connect to the St. Jacob's Way in Cífer in the part Háj, today also called Charles Court. Here is a nice Chapel of St. Cyril and Methodius. Nearby Cífer and part of Jarná are for a jump. Here, from the former mill, we connect to the Nature Trail next to the Gidra stream. We will bring him to Budmerice. Here is a beautiful park area with a manor house. From the village we can continue from the green tourist sign and come to the village of Píla. On the way we go next to the Lindavský forest and water reservoirs. The yellow sign will take us from Píla to Červený Kameň Castle. The castle and its surroundings are suitable for a longer stop and exploring. It is an old pilgrimage site. From here, the green sign will take us again to the upper end of the village of Píla and further through the valley to the Papiernička signpost. Here the Little Carpathians already offer their diversity in all its beauty. The sign leads us around the top of Kukla to the locality Tri kopce. From here, the yellow sign will take us to the village of Dubová, where our pilgrimage ends. The route offers several options for diversification. From the Three Hills you can jump to the lookout tower on Kukla, or continue along the route of the St. Jacob's Way further through the Little Carpathians. On the route we meet the official sign of the Way of St. James. It is a symbol of a yellow seashell on a blue background.
