Pilgrimage - Traces of the past

We will start the route in Doľany. This sub-small Carpathian village, formerly called Ompital, has been associated with the German ethnic group for centuries. Pilgrimage Chapel of St. Leonarda stands on a hill above the parish church and cemetery. From the chapel we walk through a picturesque village. We are attracted by the city tower standing above the stream. Below the main street in the village at the crossroads, we turn right and go southwest through the vineyards to Častá. Častá (similar to Doľany) was a small town in the ancient past. From the parish church we go up to Častianská dolina. At the beginning of it, we will connect to the green tourist sign, after which we will ascend through the forest to the meadows below the Červený Kameň castle. The chapel by the castle with the image of the Virgin Mary was in the past a place of pilgrimage. Behind the chapel on a small hill is the Calvary. Today, pilgrimages take place in the castle courtyard during the Feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, to which the castle chapel is dedicated. We continue from Častá to Štefanová. After about 1 km on the left side we will see another place of pilgrimage on a smaller hill - the Chapel of St. Rosalie. The chapel stands on the border of three villages - Doľany, Častá and Štefanová. And just at the time of the feast of St. Pilgrims from their villages walk here from these villages. From this place we will get to Dolian by road or field road
