An easy half-day hike leading through a forest environment along well-marked hiking trails.

Tatra lakes are the jewels of our mountains. One of the most beautiful is certainly Jamské pleso , which is a popular destination for visitors to the Tatras. The hike to Jamský pleso is guided by a forest environment and is very pleasant and undemanding. Pleso lies in the beautiful surroundings of a limbo grove planted in memory of the heroes of the SNP, northwest of Štrbské Pleso near the Tatra Highway.

We start our tour at Štrbské pleso, specifically at the railway station. From the station we move to the famous hotel Solisko - the former railway station has POI 626 . Right behind the hotel we find a signpost with tourist signs. At the crossroads, we disconnect from tourists who turn onto the blue sign that leads to Kriváň. We can see it over the tops of the spruces to the right of the road. We will choose the red sign - the Tatra highway, which will lead us along a very comfortable path to the Crossroads below the Furkot Valley (1457 m above sea level).

From the crossroads we continue along the red mark and further through the forest, above the still small stream Biely Váh. We continue walking along the turnoff to Biely Váh (1458 m above sea level) to the destination of our tour - Jamský pleso (1448 m above sea level).

The total area of Jamský pleso is 0.67 hectares. This lake is not very deep - its maximum depth is only 4.2 meters. However, the water in it is very clean.

The surroundings of Jamský pleso are fabulously picturesque. Views of the surrounding scenery of the Tatra nature will definitely enchant you. In addition to the ball, there are many benches where you can sit and enjoy the beauty of this area. You can also draw new and positive energy with magical views of the unspoiled Tatra nature and majestic peaks around.

After a beautiful half-day hike, we definitely deserve a tasty reward. The ideal place for this is the Al Lago Restaurant right on the shores of Štrbské Pleso at the Solisko Hotel . The restaurant, run by chef Martin Kurhajec , serves traditional Mediterranean cuisine with a selection of Slovak specialties. The emphasis is mainly on fresh and original ingredients and therefore the dishes retain the correct original taste. The pizza is made from Italian Caputo flour, steaks are prepared from aged Argentinian sirloin and Demikát soup thickened with dumplings.
Last but not least, it should be mentioned that the quality of this restaurant was also evaluated by the TREND TOP Restaurants and Hotels in Slovakia project.
