Let's get to know this beautiful part of Slovakia near Trenčín together, which will definitely offer us more experiences than just thermal water.

Trenčianske Teplice is a picturesque spa town with more than 4,000 inhabitants, which lies in the valley of the Teplička stream at the foot of the Strážovské hills at an altitude of 272 meters. The city center itself lies on springs of healing hot water. The town has a beautiful square and a large park , which is carefully maintained. Certainly for this reason, many ducks and squirrels have found a home here. Your children will also find a temporary home here, as there are also plenty of children's playgrounds. Trenčianske Teplice has its own charm that needs to be tasted and seen. Undoubtedly the most characteristic of this town are the spas , which were first mentioned in the 13th century. The Art Film Fest film festival was also held here for many years, but it was later moved to Košice. Furthermore, we can find a drinking spring with thermal water, a swimming pool set directly in the rock, a lookout with a white deer, and other attractions and monuments.

Let's get to know this beautiful part of Slovakia near Trenčín together, which will definitely offer us more experiences than just thermal water. As a starting point, we will choose a frog in the pedestrian zone in the city center. It is a bronze frog with a crown, which serves as a fountain during the season, as it sprays water from it. Next to it is the Ifigénia drinking spring . However, in the past, the spring was located in the courtyard of the manor house, but since it was later lost, they drilled a new well opposite the manor house. It consists of three marble prismatic columns from which water flows. You can also taste the water or take it with you. Ifigénia is actually the only freely accessible outdoor drinking spring in Trenčianske Teplice.

In the town we find many hotels and guesthouses. If you are interested in architecture, then you are in the right place, because there is really something to admire. One of the most interesting gems is definitely the famous Hamman and we also can't forget the Bridge of Fame. On the way to the Slava Bridge, we come across the Hammam relaxation room, where, in addition to relaxation, massages are also served. In the past it served as a bath for the rich, but today it is available not only to spa guests but also to the general public. For many, the Oriental Hammam is the most beautiful architectural monument in Trenčianske Teplice.
As we walk through the spa, we reach the Bridge of Fame and the hotel of the same name. Few visitors to Trenčianske Teplice walk around this bridge, where signs with the names of famous actors are mounted. There are currently two bridges of glory. One is in front of the hotel and the other has been in the spa park since 2009.

Since we started with a bronze frog, we can not mention the summer swimming pool Green Frog , which can be found not far from the center. The architectural work of Bohuslav Fuchs came to life again in August 2015 and is unique in Central Europe. This seasonal thermal swimming pool stands on the wooded southern slope of the Teplice Highlands, where it fits elegantly into a beautiful natural environment. You can read more about the swimming pool on our website .

If you want to see even more nature and you enjoy hiking, you will come to your senses in the forests around this town. The Klepáč hill with a height of 575 m rises above the town as a dominant. On the way from the park following the red tourist sign, you will first reach the Jánošík Cave in half to one hour on foot. For those who want to go further, it is possible to climb to the very top of Klepáč and from there observe the valley with built-in panoramic binoculars. The cave was used mainly by bandits and later by residents for religious purposes. Its length is about 10.5 meters. The cave does not have a drop decoration, but it is really a nice attraction next to a walk in the woods.

Whether you go hiking or not, good food will suit everyone. Due to the predominantly spa guests, there are quite a few options in the city, but we have chosen the R-CLUB restaurant with the LaVita Café for you . It is a family restaurant with a long tradition since 1993, which offers home cooking. This device benefits from its location as it is located right next to the pedestrian zone. And this is, in addition to a tasteful environment, one of its advantages, as there are various concerts and performances, which you can watch directly from the terrace and at the same time consume according to taste or have only an afternoon coffee.

If you want to feel the special atmosphere of this place, we recommend coming in person - see the unusual oriental architecture and also use the healing effects of the local springs. Believe that you will leave the spa town as reborn.
