A story is a journey we write every day. In the section Skillful Slovaks we will bring you interesting stories from all over Slovakia. Breathe life into old things, create something new, make life easier or more pleasant for others, that's what our stories will be about. In our first story, we visited Mr. Janosi. A retiree who does not sit in front of the television, but lives an active life and his work has already pleased many.

We come to the wider center of Bratislava in front of an ordinary block of flats of thousands in Slovakia. Mr. Janosi is already waiting for us and with a smile on his face he asks what way we had. We enter the basement, where he set up his workshop on a few square meters. He begins to tell his life story, which led him to the hobby he pursues. In his professional life, he devoted himself to working with wood and especially design. In the company in which he worked, they made custom-made furniture and designed interiors. When he retired, he did not grab the driver from the TV and did not subscribe to another extended package of TV channels. Mr. János enjoyed his work too much for that. The inner need to constantly create and invent something was so strong that it led him to re-work with wood and produce unique products from wood, resin, leather and metal.

Like every piece of wood, every product is original. Eyeglass cases are a real gem. Wood products such as rosewood, root, walnut or macasara will fascinate you at first sight. You will want to touch them and feel the drawing of the wood by touch. Original bracelets, wooden or in combination with resin are a great gift. In the portfolio we also found stainless steel rings decorated with variously colored resin decorations.

Mr. Jánoši still has a number of ideas, which he gradually implements, participates in various handmade markets, you can also buy his work at our e-shop full of stories.
