Why is coconut an amazing fruit?

Coconut in all its forms is one of the foods that can help you in many ways. It benefits the brain, liver and digestion. Coconut oil is often used in the kitchen and coconut pulp can be used as a healthy fat in food. The best thing about using coconut is that it does not contain any added cholesterol as a food of animal origin. It increases the production of healthy cholesterol and brings amino acids, vitamins, minerals and other nutrients. Coconut in all its forms has antibacterial properties and strengthens the immune system.

The story of REDCOCO

The story began with an incredible passion for traveling and exploring the fascinating world of international cuisine. They fell in love with exotic foods and a healthy lifestyle. They followed their hearts and settled in one of the best destinations in the world in South Asia. They fell in love with the taste of coconut products. Although the requirements were high, they focused on certified manufacturers, according to the highest food standards.

Andrea Novosedlíková from Redcoco is the first Slovak to graduate from the prestigious Fordham law School in New York. As a successful lawyer, she worked for a corporation for years and before the last promotion decided to go her own way. Healthy nutrition, but also unknown waters of business attracted her so much that she decided to revive the European market with quality coconut products.

What was the "acquaintance" with coconut water?

She has always traveled a lot, whether for business or pleasure, and the so-called jetlag and dehydration is excellent coconut water from fresh coconuts. She became more interested in her and found that when he drank it from tetrapack packages, it always tasted differently, sometimes strangely. She learned that different types of coconut palms grow in each country, and the water in each fresh coconut has a different taste. Brazilian and Thai coconuts are green on the outside, Malaysian coconuts are yellow, in Sri Lanka or Bali they are completely yellow and so on. In addition to their different appearance, they also have a different taste, the color of the liquid and the names: for example, coconuts in Sri Lanka are called King coconuts. In Thailand, it is Nam Hom coconuts that are distinctly green. They are rare because there are not many of them, they only grow in the so-called "Thai triangle". Their organic water is from Vietnam, from the province of Ben Tre, which is known as the "capital of coconuts" in Vietnam. Young coconuts from this province are also perfectly green, full of clear coconut water, which is full of nutrients and vitamins. They taste fantastic.

They literally live by coconut water - wherever they travel, they buy it everywhere. The idea to produce and import it arose about two years ago, when coconut water in Slovakia was not as well known as it is today. They knew her from the United States and Britain, where she was very popular. There they tasted a few brands that process Brazilian coconuts. Later, they tasted others and found that they tasted different and that they used coconuts from different countries. So they started tasting and testing and we have about 100 packages divided into groups: "thumbs up" and "thumbs down".

How did REDCOCO come about?

REDCOCO is our brand - the idea, logo, design and products were invented in Slovakia. This was followed by an assignment to a manufacturer abroad that produces products for us. Coconut water is from Vietnam, chips from Thailand, other products are from different countries, such as Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Indonesia. They have two lines, one in the kitchen, which includes coconut oil, sugar, flour, milk. For direct consumption - they call it yummies - they are: coconut water, chips and excellent coconut sticks, which are currently their bestseller.

Coconut "chips" - how are they made? What can we imagine under that?

They also have coconut chips from Thailand and are a great addition to the whole line. When a person has something to drink, he can "bite" something to it and this is a healthier alternative. The chips are flavored, it's not just dried coconut pulp. They are baked with the addition of a little sugar and the flavors are: caramel and "natural". Chips are great as a snack or as an alternative to potato chips, for example for watching TV. They were looking for something that is not with us and it is delicious.

They designed the products to be youthful, a little hipster and definitely different from everyone else. Most coconut products come in white, blue or soft green packaging, so they opted for black. White was kept at the organic cooking board, where it suits them better.
