The church is built on the site of an older Gothic church, around which there was a cemetery in the enclosure. This new one-nave longitudinal church in the classical style, with a polygonal cap and a tower built on the axis of the church, began to be built in 1788, but was completed only in 1819. It was consecrated in 1820. It is dedicated to the Nativity of the Virgin Mary and was consecrated under her protection. The church was originally painted by Pezin painter Augustín Bárta.
