Priest Juraj Fándly returned to Dolian at the end of his life. Marked in poor health, he died on March 7, 1811, after a four-day illness. He is buried in the local cemetery. In the cemetery, the Society of St. Vojtech built a pseudo-classical monument made of limestone in 1950, supplemented by a wrought iron cross. Until then, J. Fándly's grave was not marked with any tombstone. They erected the monument only very roughly to the presumed location of the grave, and now it is not known whether they did not know the exact location or whether newer graves did not allow it.

According to the locals, Fándly's grave should be closer to the main cross, near the place where the priest Štefan Ribonič is buried. In addition, there are speculations that Fándly may have been buried in the crypt of the local church.

During 2016, the monument in the cemetery and another Fándly monument in the village were renovated by the restorer Andrej Krchňák and subsequently consecrated on 26 November. Their renewal at a cost of € 5,000 was secured from the funds of the Bratislava self-governing region. There is an inscription on the tombstone:

"Here rests the dead in Christ

Juraj Fándly

1750 - 1811

a priest, faithful to his Church and educator of his

Slovak people.

With A. Bernolák -1791- he founded the Learned Society,

of which he was the organizer and secretary.

he elevated religious life with his pen and lifted it up

economic level of hereditary workers.

His spirit, as an exemplary family, lives and is Slovak

the nation mentions it in a grateful memory.

RIP

To the 200th anniversary of his birthday

he gave him this tombstone

Spolok sv. Vojtech.

A permanent woman is a virtue,

The fierce thunder, the long one

In saving, time does not break a tooth.

Let me crack the whole bar

The world will collapse, the virtue itself will remain.

J. Hollý, Ode IX. "
