The sidewalk is used for romantic walks, you can take your pet out here, the terrain is also suitable for cycling and many residents use the sidewalk for running. There are also fireplaces where you can relax and roast something to eat. The sidewalk also includes information boards, from which you can learn something about life in the village of Jablonec but also about the fauna and flora along the Gidra stream.
Chapel of St. Vendelína is an integral part of the sidewalk and is one of the sacral buildings, used exclusively for religious acts. They are an expression of the artistic maturity and spiritual culture of the nation and to this day belong to important historical and architectural monuments.
Chapel of St. Vendelín, the patron saint of shepherds, farmers, cattle and fields, was built in the 1990s on the site of the original chapel, about which no written records have been found. A coin from 1861 was found during the construction of the new chapel, which could prove in what period the original chapel could have stood still. In the chapel is a statue of St. Vendelína - a young shepherd with a rice in his hand and a sheep.
Part of the ceremonial opening of the lookout tower in 2019 was the consecration of the chapel of St. Vendelín, which was taken care of by our clergy - the pastors Branislav Trubač and Róbert Režný. The chapel is just a few meters from the lookout tower. There is also a bench, which is used for relaxation and rest in a natural environment.
Due to the significantly increased number of visitors on the nature trail and lookout tower, the Municipality of Jablonec would like to reconstruct the chapel of St. Vendelína. To create a more beautiful place for rest and spiritual renewal even at the lookout tower. The subject of the reconstruction would be the replacement of the roof, a new facade. Complete plating, rain gutters and cornices. New wooden ceilings would be made.
