The school has for 14 years established in all classes at the 1st level of teaching in Dalton Blocks. In 2012, the school received the international certificate of Dalton School status, which entitles us to use the name Dalton School and to competently sell experience in the field of Dalton pedagogy.
In the field of sports, we have paid attention to collective sports such as football, discharging. Our students dance in the dance group Clis, which is led at our school by Mrs. Iveta Baloghová. The group has a huge amount of success in national and international competitions. The school also has interest departments designed for 1st and 2nd grade students, which are based on the interest of students and thus support their talent in the field of art, sports, and also allow access to information technology in students' free time.
However, we consider the teaching results of the pupils of our school to be paramount. Our students prove these by excellent placements in various competitions within the district, region and within Slovakia. The school also provides students with generally oriented basic education and educational activities with special emphasis on the development of communication in foreign languages. Under the guidance of qualified teachers, they work in English and German language classes in three specialized classrooms, equipped with modern technology.
In the curriculum, we also place considerable emphasis on information and communication technologies, the use of which should become common for graduates of our program not only in computer science and informatics classes, but in all subjects. The school therefore has two specialized computer classrooms.
Since the school year 2015/2016, the school has established a specialized cooking classroom, which has become part of the teaching of the subject Technology since the fifth year.
An inseparable part of the school is the six departments of the children's school club with its wide range of various interesting activities.
Life in a population-natural group, where individuals with different talents and characteristics are represented, is of great importance for the successful development of a child. This includes children with different types of disabilities. Our school pays attention and help to such children as well, so it has employed two special teachers.
We all believe that the expectations and plans we have set will not go unanswered and that our school will also be transformed into a modern school of the third millennium and will become a second home for students.
Focus of the school: extended teaching of music education, extended teaching of English from the 1st year.
