It was built in a field grove in 1832 out of gratitude to the Virgin Mary for stopping the cholera epidemic in 1830. The grove that surrounded the chapel was already uprooted and today only a few lonely trees stand around it. Every year on Sunday around September 8, when it is the feast of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, to whom the chapel is dedicated, a pilgrimage is held with the participation of believers from the surrounding villages.
