PhDr. Štefan Moyses (October 24, 1797 – July 5, 1869) – bishop, scholar, prominent representative of the Slovak national revival, first chairman of Matica slovenska. He also made a permanent mark in Croatian history. Štefan Moyses was born on October 24, 1797 in Vesel. Today, the birth house is a National Cultural Monument.
