The construction of the Markušov manor dates back to 1643 and is linked to the name of František Mariássy, who had it built in the Renaissance style. The Rococo reconstruction dates from 1770 - 1775, when Wolfgang - Farkaš Máriássy became the owner. In the 50s of the 20th century, the manor house was modified for the purposes of the museum. After extensive reconstruction in the years 1983 - 1994, the Exhibition of Historical Furniture was opened to the public.
