Already in the time of Bishop Dr. Augustine Fischer-Colbrie considered the return of the former Košice church and monastery to the Franciscans so that they could once again participate in the spiritual care of a growing number of Catholic believers through pastoral care. The obstacle to this idea was the lack of the necessary material resources for the construction of more suitable premises for the theological seminary of the Košice diocese, established in the original Franciscan monastery.
