According to the publication "Katolícke Uhorsko 1000-1901", the church in Dolné Topoľníke was founded in 1754 and was built in honor of the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The Gothic Roman Catholic church was rebuilt in the late classicist style. There are three bells in the church tower. The murals of the church were painted in the 1970s by students of the Bratislava University of Permanent Arts. The painting of the main altar was also replaced during this period. At that time there was still an image of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary.
