The village, located halfway between Komárno and Dunajská Streda, is dominated by an impressive municipal office building, built at the beginning of the twentieth century.
It is first mentioned in 1268 as Bogya with parts of Hradná and Zemianska. Today it is an independent village with its own kindergarten, playground, culture house and growing distillery. The color of the nature of Žitný ostrov gives it the perspective of tourism development. Lake Zsemlékes has already been taken care of by the non-profit organization Pro Zsemlékes.
