Above the village rises the highest peak of the Little Carpathians Záruba, whose height is 767 m above sea level. In its western part at an altitude of 576 m above sea level there is a ruin of a castle called Ostrý Kameň, also called Biksard Castle, German Scharfenstein, Hungarian Élesko or Ostríž. . Its name is probably derived from the shape of the rock on which it is built. It was built in the thirteenth century - in 1273. Together with Korlátský and Plavecký castles, it formed three fortresses guarding the western borders of Hungary and the old historical Czech road, which led from the north and northwest between Hrubý Kamenec through Osečník towards Trnava to Budín. At that time - in a document of Karol Róbert from 1336, the village was the place of the customs office. They were exempted from paying fees for the guard service performed by the people of Biksard. The village belonged to the Ostrý Kameň estate, from 1752 to the Svätojánské estate, administratively it belonged to the Bratislava capital, Trnava district.

Judging from this name, it could be stated, as the literature states, that: "The first fortified places in Slovakia were large fortifications surrounded by earthen ramparts, which were created in pre-feudal society as a refuge from the enemy." The place is located east of the church about 800 m.
