Fourteen helpers in need were a group of saints worshiped in the Middle Ages as particularly helpful saints who helped in everyday life situations. There are several variations of the lists of saints who belonged among them. The most mentioned are St. Acacia, Barbora, Blažej, Katarína from Alexandria, Krištof, Cyriacus, Dionýz from Paris, Erasmus, Eustach, Juraj, Margaréta, Pantaleon, Vendelín and Július, sometimes also St. Vitus, St. Egidius, etc. However, we cannot say for sure whether they all existed. This cult disappeared after the Second Vatican Council (1969).
