Monument to the first printing house in Slovakia, Petra Bornemisz. It is located on the premises of the elementary school. Under the protection of Július Salma, the well-known Protestant preacher, writer and printer Peter Bornemisz established a printing press at the Šintava Castle (1573), the first in Slovakia, where the important work of Postil and his other works and sermons were printed. In 1759, Bornemisz was forced to leave Šintava. He also went with the printer to Plavecký Castle.
