PR Zelenka
Date of announcement: 31 May 1980
Area: 82.52 ha
Region: Trnavský
District: Senica
Cadastre: Lakšárska Nová Ves One of the last preserved fens of an interdune character. The majority of the area of the reserve is occupied by bog alder (Dryopterido cristatae-Alnetum). A very valuable part of the territory are herbaceous spineless stands from the association Molinion caerulae. Swamp alder passes into birch forest, and pine forests occur on the remaining area. Despite the fact that in the 1980s the groundwater level dropped by more than 50 cm and the site dried up, there are many rare and protected plant species such as Hartman's sedge (Carex hartmanii), marsh sedge (Comarum palustre), narrow-leaved heather (Eriophorum angustifolium), marsh licorice (Hottonia palustris), common navel (Hydrocotyle vulgaris), common bubble (Utricularia vulgaris), comb fern (Dryopteris cristata) and marsh fern (Thelypteris palustris). That it is a bog is also proven by the presence of several species of sphagnum (Sphagnum sp.). Among the animals, the occurrence of 160 species of beetles was proven here, of which three are protected and one is a new species for Slovakia.
The subject of protection are: Biotopes of European importance: Pannonian oak-hornbeam forests (91G0), Moisture and acid-loving birch-oak forests (9190), Peat birch forests (91D0), Natural dystrophic backwaters (3160) and Transitional peatlands and trails (7140), biotopes of the national importance: Acidophilic pine and oak-pine forests and Swamp alder forests, species of European importance and species of national importance.
