The purpose of the nature reserve declaration is to ensure the protection of habitats of European importance: Pannonian oak-hornbeam forests, Heat-loving Pontic-Pannonian oak forests on loess and sand, Moisture and acid-loving birch-oak forests, Peat birch forests, Natural dystrophic peatlands, habitats of national importance: Acid-loving pine and oak-pine forests and Peat alder forests, species of European importance and species of national importance.
