The dominant feature of the village is the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, built in 1858. The first mention of it is from 1455. In the past, the Greeks subsisted as lumberjacks, coal miners and carters. In the 17th century, Riečka was quite populous in terms of regional conditions and the population has been growing in recent years. The river has good civic amenities, a football stadium and two multi-purpose playgrounds. There is a cottage area and beautiful nature around. That's why people from the city move here. The village organizes various events. For example, the baking of sour cakes, which has been a competition since 2004 between the cooperatives of the municipalities of Riečka, Tajov, Králiky and Kordíky, which together form a natural micro-region, and the cooperative municipality of Kulpin in Serbia. Another important event is the Riečanská banquet on the feast of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
