In the 17th century, when the church fell into the hands of the Evangelicals, they built a massive tower, which is still there today. The geographical location in the Klatovy-Klíž valley determined the village to the sought-after seat of the nobility. Four architectural gems and technical monuments are national cultural monuments. Today, the village has about 1,620 inhabitants and forms the natural center of the valley.
