The attractiveness of the rock city is enhanced by the interesting block separation – a natural phenomenon characteristic of andesite volcanic rock. Beautiful views of Pohronie and the Nitra valley can be seen from the cliffs of Kláštorská skaly. Marked hiking trails lead to Kláštorská skala from the villages of Bystričany, Kamenec pod vtáčnikom or Kľak, but it can also be climbed as part of the Vtáčnik ridge.
