The village of Dolný Štál is located in the southwest of Slovakia, in the heart of Žitný ostrov, 10 km from the district town of Dunajská Streda, by an important traffic route, on road no. 63 (E 575), which leads from Bratislava to Komárno. The village has about 2000 inhabitants, its area is about 2950 ha and lies at an altitude of 112 m above sea level. It was established in 1940 by merging the villages of Dolný Štál, Horný Štál and Tőnye.
