Jarolím Gucman was a member of the 1st Czechoslovak Air Division, who was injured on April 28, 1945 due to a plane crash. Our village was already liberated at that time and the war ended a few days later. Jarolím Gucman was only 23 years old at the time and fell on the threshold of a free homeland. With the damaged plane, he tried to land at Wodzislaw and Ratibor, but the burning plane, unlike his fellow flight attendant, could no longer leave. He is buried near the crash site. In the book From Buzuluk to Prague, he is mentioned by the arm. General and later President Ludvík Svoboda and a native M. Piovarči wrote a biographical book The Youngest Pilot of the Regiment shortly before his death (published by the city of Leopoldov in 2012). Gucman was born into a railwayman's family and came into contact with the air force for the first time in Žilina. In 1940 he enlisted in the army, graduated from the non-commissioned officer school and pilot training in Trenčín. He served in Zvolen and r. 1943 in the Crimea completed retraining on the German bomber Heinkel He-111. After injuries and convalescence, he served at the airports in Žilina and Poprad, from where in 1944 flew to the USSR and was assigned to the 3rd MS. Combat Air Regiment. He completed training for the Ilyushin Il-2 war plane. As part of his regiment, he joined the so-called Ostrava operation and on April 28, 1945 around 6 pm, his plane was hit by German fire.
