The Virgin Mary was the patron saint of all the countries of Hungary. The Marian motif became an expression of gratitude for protection from the sea, natural disasters or the enemy. The Marian columns are mostly in front of the church and rarely on the old roads. The Marian Column is uniform in European sculpture and consists of stairs, pedestals with inscriptions, its own pillar and the top of the Virgin Mary. The location of the statue of the Virgin Mary is therefore exceptional in our village, because it stands to the right of the upper end of the village (on the field road towards Chtelnice) behind Stará Blava, about 120 m from Stará Blava at the crossroads of the field road towards "chtelnické" and "Pod vinohrady ”(Towards the Upper Barrage). In front of the statue flows a "drain" (Tar Channel). There were huge old linden lindens around the statue.
The statue has the inscription:
“Ecce ancilla Domini fiat mihi secundum verbum tuum”
G. Krman anno 1771
translated:
"Behold, the handmaid of the Lord, let me alone according to Your word"
G. Krman, in 1771
On the pedestal (under the pillar) is the date of maintenance 1941, to which Jozef and Helena Uváčik contributed.
