imon Klempa (1811 - 1903), postmaster and canon of Trnava, was the first editor of the Catholic newspaper. He was born in Lakšárská Nová Ves and is also buried in the local cemetery. In 2009, the village unveiled a memorial plaque on the facade of the chapel, behind the cross he had built in his birthplace.
Further information on the cross and its predecessor was published by L. Včelková Pernischová. The cross was repaired in 2004, a metal cross superstructure was placed on it, because the original stone fell after a windstorm in January 2003. The cross also included two statues of saints (today there are lanterns in their place), still around 1930 they stood in their places.
The cross replaced the original cross from 1761, which sometimes stood in front of the chapel. It was wooden with the tin body of Christ. It was surrounded by a fence. It was built by the parish priest Ján Kabarec for 5 florins to Jozef Hájek. Ján Kabarec was a pastor in the village from 1735 until his death in 1766. He financially supported the construction of the mentioned chapel of St. Simon and Judas in 1754 and laid the foundation for its maintenance.
