The monument is dominated by a group of Soviet soldiers, partisans and mothers with a child in their arms. The sculpture is placed on a pedestal. In 2004, a sandstone plaque with the names of Hlohovčany, 48 civilians who perished during the Second World War and the Slovak National Uprising, was installed on the pedestal of the memorial. Above the names of the victims is the inscription "In eternal memory of the citizens of Hlohovec, who perished in the fight against fascism for the freedom of the Slovak nation in World War II."
