The living part of a simple peasant house gives a glimpse into the ordinary dwelling of the inhabitants of Kraków. Thanks to the owners of the museum, it was preserved in its original form. Thanks to this, visitors will learn what their normal day looked like, but they will also get to know their festive habits.
However, the most important part of the whole museum is the collection of costumes and other ceremonial clothes and textiles decorated with lace. The one from Krakow has a geometric pattern, is multi-colored and is often mistaken for embroidery. Thanks to its uniqueness, however, it has more and more admirers in Slovakia and abroad. This is also evidenced by the lace festival, which takes place regularly in the village of Krakovany, and the Ethnographic Museum Behind the Krakow Gate is of course the venue for this international event.
