Vrch Ostrva is located near Popradské pleso, about 1 hour's walk from the restaurant in the north of the lake, but the time may vary depending on how many times you need to stop to rest and take pictures of the landscape of Popradské lake and Mengusovská dolina. This hiking route is one of the easiest for the High Tatras, which is why it is very popular among tourists, because it is suitable both for a traveler with a dog and for a large family with children, their parents and grandparents, if they feel that they can manage one and half to two hours of climbing the mountain on a stone path with an angle of 5-8 degrees.
Access to Popradské Pleso and actually to Ostrva is from two directions: from Štrbské pleso and from the Popradské Pleso bus stop. It would take you about the same to get there and back - 4.5 to 6 hours depending on your walking speed and your group.
I personally highly recommend visiting this destination, because the view and landscapes are definitely worth the time of ascent and descent. just remember to bring plenty of water and food - you'll need it!
