History

The concept of the museum was based on the effort to present the history of the village and traditional material culture. The form of panels with text supplemented by pictorial material and period documents will guide us through the past of D. Krupa. The lower part of the panels is complemented by glass showcases with documents and smaller three-dimensional exhibits. In the entrance room we learn about general history from ancient times, feudalism, the Beethoven tradition and the Brunswick family, the years of capitalism, wars and the Slovak state to the present. The Municipal Museum in Dolná Krupá was ceremoniously opened on June 25, 1975 as the "Museum of Socialist Agriculture JRD Krupá" in the year of the 30th anniversary of the liberation of the village and the 25th anniversary of the founding of the United Agricultural Cooperative in our village.

The premises of the former kindergarten, previously forming the rear wing of the building belonging to the rectory, were adapted for this purpose. As the original name suggests, the exhibition was heavily taxed at the time of its creation. Part of the idea was to set up an archive and a small open-air museum in the courtyard of the museum, but this was abandoned.
