Calvary is unique in that, unlike others, you will not find chapels, but crosses laid on the ground and statues. They are built of stone and complemented by glass detail. The stone has a local origin, it was mined in Terchová more than a hundred years ago. The intention to build the Stations of the Cross in Terchová was long-term, as the village is an important place of pilgrimage. There is a Roman Catholic church dedicated to St. Cyril and Methodius, which is the largest church in Slovakia.
