The territory of the GRON Region extends in the valley of the middle course of the Hron River, which is surrounded by the mountains Tribeč, Pohronský Inovec, Štiavnické vrchy and Vtáčnik. The mountain ranges are mainly made up of a young volcanic relief, which is characterized by a large elevational discontinuity. Our region is characterized by extensive forests, through which you will be guided by numerous hiking trails and cycling routes. In several villages we can find the remains of mining activities.
