During the reign of King Bel IV. in the years 1235 - 1270 Mantans from the present Baier were called here. Later there was an invasion by the Gauls and Saxons. It is not known where they came from.
Mantas (a German national) spoke similarly to the Austrians, and at the time they were involved in setting up mines for gold, silver, and copper ore mining and forestry.
According to a legend maintained even now among the inhabitants, the mines were discovered during the nomadic period, when the inhabitants were employed in sheep grazing. A shepherd grazing sheep in this valley had a metal vessel with him to draw water from a spring. A few days later, when he returned to this spring, he found a container at the bottom painted blue. Legend has it that people discovered the presence of copper ore in the depths of the earth.
The second legend describes the discovery of copper ore at the time of the invasion of the Tatars in this region. In the evening, the returning soldiers went to sleep and stabbed their swords into the ground. They were found blue in the morning.
