Today's village Kútniky developed by merging and becoming independent of the surrounding surrounding villages. In 1940, the villages of Hegybeneé-te and Töböréte were merged into one municipality of Hegyéte, r. 1948 renamed Kútniky. In that year, the villages of Csenkeszfa, Lidér-Tejed and Pódafa were also merged into the common municipality of Póda-Tejed, r. 1948 renamed Povoda. The village of Povoda was r. 1960 connected to Kútniky, to which the village of Blažov was also attached. In 1990, the village of Povoda became independent and Kútniky gained its present-day area.
