The village of Malé Dvorníky

The files stored in the Budapest archives prove that our village was already known in 1252 as a settlement of courts serving at Bratislava Castle. Since 1356, the village has appeared in documents as an aristocratic settlement under its current name ODUOR (DVOR).

It is said that the village was not in its current place in the 6th century, during the reign of the Avars, but on the then main road leading through Dunajská Streda. The embankment of land, which stretched along the borders of the village, the remnants of the Ring still exists today. On this ridge - embankment there is currently a municipal cemetery and a church with a chapel, after which this ridge is called "Kápolnadomb". During excavations in 1946, archaeologists found several valuable finds from the period of the Celts and Avars. Some of them are still on display in the Žitnoostrov Museum.
The oldest cultural monument of the village is a small chapel and a church built on the already mentioned ridge. The chapel was consecrated in honor of the Holy Trinity in 1735 by the then Bishop of Bratislava, István Bakó. The Holy Trinity is still the patron saint of the church and the village, so every year on the Sunday following the Turíc holiday, feasts are held in the village. From the original altar located in the chapel, only the Baroque image of the Holy Trinity has been preserved to this day.
The interiors of the church were decorated in 1972 with interesting frescoes. At the bottom of the fresco are 4 letters AMDG, which in Latin means: AD MAIOREM DEI GLORIAM, in Slovak "Greater Glory to God". It is also worth noting the house located in the village built around 1830 and the manor built around 1890, belonging at that time to Dr. Wippern János, the consul of the then monarchy.

In the valley of the church, right next to the municipal cemetery, there is a cave "Lourdes".
In addition to the mostly fertile land, which was until recently the basis of the existence of most of the local population, the cadastre of the village contains mainly a number of swamps and wetlands. The most enchanting area of the village is known as "Mocsola", closest to the river Little Danube is a hunt called "Rét". The village celebrating its 750th birthday has its own coat of arms and flag, which every inhabitant is rightly proud of, because it is not only a reflection of the past, but also a model for the future. The coat of arms with a red background depicting an armored hand with a silver sword was recognized in 1910 as the coat of arms of our village by the then Royal Ministry of the Interior.
