The first record of a school in the village dates from 1708. It was a simple, straw-covered building that stood on a plot called the Notary's Office. In 1899, a new school was built, which at that time was the most beautiful school in the entire then Prešporská capital. The principal of the school was Vincent Blažek. By merging the state and secondary schools in 1953, the Eight-Year School was established. Karol Siváček was entrusted with the management of the school, who was replaced in 1960 by Vendelín Antal. The deputy directors were Vincent Blažek and Hieroným Burian.
September 1, 1966, became a major milestone. According to local and school chronicles, school principal Kornel Danáš ceremoniously opened the school year 1966/1967 on September 1 at the Križovany Cultural House, from where students with class teachers moved to the new school premises. The handover ceremony took place on September 4, 1966. Pupils, teachers, citizens and important guests met in front of the old school building. They removed the school board from the building. The school's representatives, accompanied by students and others present, accompanied by local wind music, took the board and attached it to the new school. A cultural program and a tour of the school followed. The school buildings were located in the park greenery, in a quiet environment on a plot of 2 hectares. It consisted of two single-storey pavilions (18 classrooms), a gym, a club building. In the school year 1966/1967, 531 pupils from Križovian, Vlčkoviec and Opoja attended ZDŠ and employed 32 pedagogical and 9 operational employees.
Since then, the school has gone through several important ones
changes that have caused changes in the school education system. From a nine-year elementary school in
1982 became eight years old and since 2001 again nine years old.
September 1, 2004 by merging primary and kindergarten
a new independent legal entity, the Primary School with the Križovany nad Dudváhom Kindergarten, was established. A workshop building (1975), a tennis court, and a multifunctional playground were added to the school grounds. In the years 2004 - 2012, a comprehensive reconstruction of Pavilion B took place. It consists of two above-ground floors and spaces in the attic. There are 16 classrooms in the building, of which 6 are professional classrooms. Since 2013, the building and the gym have been renovated. Reconstruction of the roof, sports floor and walls, sanitary facilities, floors and walls in the locker rooms and the workshop, replacement of windows and doors took place. Since 2015, the dining room building has been undergoing reconstruction, where windows and doors have been replaced, and the cooking room and warehouse premises have been renovated.
