The history of the course can be divided into 2 stages. In the first one, it was at the level of a natural course, where the first Slovak and Košice golf pioneers gained experience with this fantastic sport. The second stage started on June 6, 2006, when investments began in the construction of the Club House, irrigation, playground modifications and the construction of a comprehensive facility for players. The golf course has been taken care of by professional greenkeepers. Today, after 5 years of modern operation, golfers are talked about Alpinka in Košice as a small-large course, a 9-hole course that can withstand even the strictest criteria and is unique in Slovakia due to its natural character. This is also evidenced by the prestigious tournaments that are regularly played at Alpinka in Košice.
In 2010, Luis Claverie, a Spaniard, a professional PGA European tour player, accepted an invitation to the Košice golf course. The Tenerife native was thrilled with the pitch. He said he didn't want to believe that there would be a golf course between the hills and so close to the big city. He highly appreciated the beautiful scenery, the natural settlement of the course in the middle of the enchanting Čermeľská valley, the smell of the air, spiced with forest and, last but not least, quality and excellent greens. "Your course has a unique character, and I've already visited a golf course :-)." Club members had the opportunity to play with it, consult their game, Luis gave them valuable advice.
