The gracious statue of the Virgin Mary of Loreto
The current gracious statue of the Loreto Virgin Mary dates from 1689. It replaced the original gracious statue, which he had made during the visit of Loreto, Baron Rudolf Strozing in 1654. In 1683, in order to worship the Virgin Mary of Lorraine, a dense fog was miraculously launched, which saved Modranka and the whole of Trnava from the Turkish invasion. In the same year, however, Tököly's troops looted the village, desecrated the church and stole a gracious statue from Modranka.
Eva Alvinczyová had a new gracious statue of the Virgin Mary of Lorraine made of wood.
In r. In 1784, King Joseph II. order to remove votive paintings and statues and banned pilgrimages. The gracious statue of the Virgin Mary of Lorraine was kept at home by citizen Srnenský and later handed over to canonist Görgey in Trnava. In r. In 1797, after the death of Joseph II, the canon Görgey had the statue restored and returned to its original location in the church. In r. 1805 - 1808, during the Napoleonic Wars, gunpowder was stored in the church and the gracious statue found itself in Trnava. In r. In 1808, after the restoration and repainting of the church, the statue returned to the church and the pilgrimages resumed.
