Marian Baroque column with a sculpture is located in the northeastern part of Hlohovec Square. Michala.
The Marian Column dates from 1739. It was built after one of the last plague epidemics that began in the city. More than 3,300 people died at the time, and many of them fled the city out of fear. But there was no one to provide them with shelter, so many had to return to the city of the dead.
In the middle there is a statue of the Virgin Mary on the Ionic column, on the sides of the triangular pedestal there are statues of St. Joseph, St. Rócha and St. Sebastian. The pedestal depicts reliefs of the Holy Sepulcher, St. Rosalie and St. Jan Nepomucký.
The column with the sculpture has been declared a cultural monument since 1963.
