A jazz festival was established in Novo Mesto nad Váhom on Zelená voda some time ago. At that time, the people of Novomešť had no idea that in some time the city center would be enriched by a jazz club. "I dealt with the idea of a music club with a restaurant about three years ago, but the final decision to go to this project was made at the beginning of last year also in connection with the activities we have in terms of music production on Green Water, namely Open Jazz Fest, Says the owner of the New Town jazz club Blue Note, Tibor Zelenay.
"The fact that it will be a club focused mainly on jazz music stems from the subjective feeling of music for both myself and my surroundings," he continues. Performances will usually be two to three times a week. "We also want to give young musicians and alternative music a chance to present themselves, so that we can offer visitors a whole range of genres," says Zelenay.
According to him, the club also prepares themed evenings on various topics. It can be, for example, the presentation of music genres, discussions with travelers and other interesting events and programs.
According to Zelenay, jazz music will predominate in production, but other genres will also be given space in dramaturgy within the spatial possibilities of the club. Its capacity is up to two hundred people.
