Statue of St. Florian the Martyr was built at the upper end of the village and the visitation records that it was built in 1812 by Ján Chorvatovič. The statue was erected at the upper end at the crossroads of the road to Dechtice and the general road towards the church and the school. At present, the statue of St. Florian stands approximately in the middle of the village.

Sv. Florian is revered as a patron against the dangers of water, floods, droughts and storms, and later fire. He became the patron saint of fire brigades and associations. He is depicted in the clothes of a Roman soldier with a shield in his hand and a helmet on his head. He holds a pitcher of water in his hand, which he pours over the burning house. Due to the frequent fires in the old days, when the roofs of the Katlov houses were covered with straw, this patron could not be missed in the village.
