It was originally the resort of Mikuláš Röser, who built it in 1889 in the southern part of the settlement, right next to the villa Kis Scepusia (now Alice). Later, when they were planning to build a new spa house across the road, its new owner had it dismantled and rebuilt at its current location in the northern part of the settlement. Villa Ilona once belonged to the county of Novohrad, Count Ľudovit Degenfeld. They named it after the owner's wife, Countess Ilona, born Dessewffy (born in 1845).
