They are written thanks to a much greater effort than just depressing the accelerator pedal in adult cars.
At the beginning of the twentieth century, pedal cars began to enter the market very timidly. In the catalog from 1902, which was published in Paris, it is possible to find the predecessor of pedal cars - a wooden vehicle resembling a carriage without horses.
This little "Landau" was a fairy-tale toy at the time: it had a wooden body, fenders, brakes, lights, a steering wheel but also a trumpet. It cost 65 French francs, which was a reasonable price for this period.
However, it must be said that the first pedal cars were actually very expensive and therefore only available to a very limited number of buyers. They were made by artisans in small series, which explains their price. After all, the same could be said of a car.
