The mission of Matica slovenská is to preserve the history of our ancestors, to fulfill tasks in the field of raising national awareness, folk traditions, to support activities in the field of national culture and to strengthen Slovak statehood.
The first group of enthusiasts met at the end of 1989 and subsequently in 1990 the activities of the Local Department of Matica slovenská (hereinafter MOMS) in Budmerice, headed by Mr. Michal Kunák.
It was necessary to create separate spaces for the activity, so in 1993 we were provided with 2 small rooms on the ground floor of the cultural house.
The premises for MOMS became small, so after several considerations in 1995, the Municipal Council decided to expand the premises for MOMS to its current dimensions.
In each house, the rooms have their attributes. When we thought, what do we call the so-called the front room, by being smaller in space, fell the design - Budmerická izbička.
In the ethnographic exposition of the Budmerice room, visitors will see the most beautiful part of the folk dwelling "front room" furnished with period furniture, but also a kitchen with a built oven, which the inhabitants of Budmerice had in the 19th century of the last millennium. There are costumes, various tools for textile processing, beautiful embroidery, ceramics, tools for agricultural work, a set of wood carvings and many other items that are proof of the skills of the inhabitants of that time.
