In 1797, the first chairman of the Slovak Matica, Štefan Moyses, was born in a village eight kilometers southwest of Piešťany. On his birth house there is a memorial plaque and inside an exhibition commemorating the life of this important bishop, scholar and representative of the Slovak national revival. His monument is also built in the village. Veselé is a village with a rich fruit-growing tradition, which was founded in Veselý by a family of landowners, the Škubličov family. Veselé is also known for the wind music of Veselanka. The first written mention of it dates back to 1851, which ranks it among the three oldest wind music in Slovakia. There are also several cultural and historical monuments in the village. The most important is the Baroque Roman Catholic Church of St. Bartholomew, which was built in the years 1736 - 1743 on the foundations of an older church, of which only part of the tower remains. At the edge of the upper end of the former village of Ťapkové is a wooden bell tower, in which there is a bell dedicated to St. Joseph, from 1821.
