The history of the church and rectory in the village is also the history and image of life of the inhabitants of the village. The first mention of the village of Budmerice is from 1296. The then name of the village of Kerestúr comes from the phrase Kerest Úr from the Hungarian Cross of the Lord. To this day, the Roman Catholic Church in Budmerice is dedicated to the Exaltation of the Holy Cross. The church as such has never been demolished. It burned down several times, was rebuilt, repaired and expanded.

Originally a Gothic church, it is a single-nave church with a semicircular presbytery closure, vaulted with Czech pancakes. The vault in the ship rests on the retracted pillars.
On the south side there is a sacristy and a polygonal tower covered with a polygonal helmet. The facade of the church is smooth, on a tower with one and two-stage supporting pillars.
On the late Baroque main altar there is a picture of the exaltation of St. A cross with a canteen, on which there is a tabernacle (sanctuary) with adoring figures of angels. On the sides of the main altar are baroque statues of St. Peter and St. Paul from the first half of the 18th century. To the right of the main altar, on the side altar, is an oil painting of St. John of Nepomuk from 1801 by the artist G. Schneider and a statue of St. Joseph the Foster. In the church there is a procession cross, which is made of folk wood carving with baroque elements. In 1634, a tower clock was built on the church in Budmerice.

At the time of the Rákoci uprising in 1705, the church in Budmerice was damaged and therefore in the years 1718-1736 its general reconstruction took place. It was built from the ground up, and in addition to the octagonal tower, a remnant of the former Gothic church, the new church was built in the Romanesque style. Two bells were placed in the tower. One consecrated to St. Peter and St. Paul, the other to St. Vitus the Martyr. In 1730 a side altar dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary was built and in 1731 a second side altar with a statue of the Divine Heart of Jesus stands. Next to it is a picture of John the Baptist and below it a stone baptistery. During the general reconstruction in 1735-1736, equipment was transferred from the original church, a new pulpit, a wooden choir and organ, four altars and bells were built. However, the new church did not last long, on May 21, 1774, it almost burned down, and with it the parish and most of the village. Only bare walls remained of the church. It was necessary to build a new rectory and restore the church. The church was consecrated in 1782, although it has not yet been completed. When a new priest, Jozef Balko, came to Budmerice in 1795, the altars had to be completed, the pulpit, the organ and the part of the main nave of the church that had not been painted painted.

As vdp. the pastor Jozef Balko was the educator of the sons of Count, the Červenokamenské estate was generous to him and in Budmerice a beautiful multi-storey rectory grew up with a special chapel for the pastor and a rich library. (1796-1800) In the restored church they built a side altar of St. Families and in 1731 oil painting, painting of St. John the Baptist was placed over the new marble baptistery. The paintings of the Stations of the Cross and the new clock on the tower also come from this period. In 1869, during major repairs under the influence of Vdp. pastor Štefan Mráz, a third bell was added. In 1896 and in 1934, People's Missions were held in the village. Next to the new rectory, a one-storey school building was built at that time, which stood there until 1987. As a school it served until the 1960/61 school year, then its premises were used as a fire station and later for pigeon breeders in the village. In 1953 and also in 1977, the roof of the church was repaired, at the same time in this year the parish and the church were repaired, it was painted in 1984 and the windows were repaired.

The rectory building, built during the period of operation of the Vdp. parish priest Jozef Balka (1795 - 1834), was demolished in 1995 and until 1996 there was no parish in Budmerice. VDP. the pastor Marán Gáborík lived in Doľany, which at that time did not have their own priest, and the Budmer clergyman represented him there. This means that he managed four municipalities, Budmerice and Jablonec as a branch, and Doľany, to which the branch belonged to the municipality of Štefanová.

In addition to pastoral duties, he also built a new rectory in Budmerice. Of course, with the help of believers in Budmerice and Jablonec, it was completed in 2002 and approved in 2003. The premises of the rectory are currently used for rent for the choir CHORUS ANGELICUS to practice singing and of course it is the apartment of a priest, the administrator of the rectory vdp. Mgr. Branislav Trubač / since July 1, 2014 /.
In 2000, after many years, the People's Missions were held again in the village, under the leadership of Redemptorist searches. On this occasion, a new Mission Cross was built next to the church.
On January 4, 2009, the relics of Bl. Zdenka Schellingová. In the church there is a memorial plaque to the visit of St. Father John Paul II. in Slovakia, when he was passing through our village. Folk missions under the leadership of the Redemptorist searches took place in the village again in 2011, already in collaboration with the father of Robert Režný, a native of Budweis, ordained a priest in 2006.
