The village of Telgárt lies in the eastern part of the Horehronie basin. The first written mention of the village was discovered in the Jáger Chapter from 1326. The area, known as a hunting ground, was visited in the 15th century by King Matej Korvín himself. The interesting thing about the village is definitely the so-called Telgárt Loop, a railway tunnel built in 1936. It can also be proud of the active folklore group Telgárt.
